The Story of a Photographer

Hi, I'm Julie, a Los Angeles-area photographer specializing in family and school photography. I travel throughout Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties, capturing timeless, heartfelt moments for families and schools alike.

My love for photography began when my first daughter was born. I originally went to school for court reporting and later worked as a notetaker for a hearing-impaired student who was a photography major. As I followed her through classes, I found myself captivated by the art of photography. I decided to take a leap, start my own business, and I’ve never looked back. Over the years, I've photographed almost everything, but I’ve realized my heart lies in capturing beautiful light, stunning locations, and, most importantly, genuine family connections—especially the bond between moms and their kids.

I absolutely love where I live! Nothing beats a California sunset, and there’s no shortage of gorgeous backdrops here—from serene beaches to scenic trails, rolling hillsides, and charming campuses. I’m always on the lookout for new locations and often combine my new found love of walking with my passion for scouting hidden gems.

When I'm not behind the camera, you’ll find me traveling to new places, going to concerts, sitting on a pool deck cheering for my daughters at water polo games, and spending time with family. My life has changed significantly in the past couple of years—through loss, growth, and a renewed appreciation for both family and my work. This job has been a gift, allowing me to witness and capture love and connection, even during life's hardest moments. For that, I’m deeply grateful.
